Style Saviour - Equipment Silk Shirt

I seem to be practically living in one item at the moment - my Equipment Signature shirt. Equipment make the most beautifully cut shirts out of gorgeously soft silk in a great range of colours and prints. This one is in a fab blue snakeskin print. It has worked hard through the Autumn/Winter lifting the black jumper and jeans combo out of the dull doldrums by injecting a little colour and luxury. This look had an outing on Wednesday:

Spring Greens

The sun is still shining! It's been at least 3 days in a row and it's time to cast of those wintry wine coloured nails and go for something altogether more seasonal. I am loving my bright blue nails at the moment, and I am on the hunt for a perfect yellow but yesterday I tracked down the most gorgeous bright green.

I want it all! - The Wren Shops her Spring Wishlist

It's been utterly glorious here for the last few days. Blue skies galore. It's starting to feel like Spring and it just doesn't feel right to wear a furry hooded coat when the crocuses have bloomed. So, in preparation for when it has officially sprung I've just ordered this jacket.

It's incredible. I'm excited. Don't worry it's on express delivery.

Cookies and Carnage.

Yesterday, the little wrens had friends to play and so the perfect kids spaces I showcased on yesterday's blog are today looking just a little rough around the edges. Actually, I think the phrase I used was 'a complete tip' and

A person's a person, no matter how small

Half term has begun. It's day 2 and the little wrens are currently playing at opposite ends of the house. There have so far been no major battle lines drawn which may largely be down to the fact that they are currently playing at opposite ends of the house! They are 7 and 5 (sorry, 7 and three quarters and 5 and three quarters - I'd be in trouble for that) and

Food of Love

T-shirt - Zoe Karssen

'Tis the Feast of Saint Valentine Today, allegedly the most romantic day of the year. Although, quite when the notion of a £20 Meal for Two became the height of romanticism, I've no idea. I'm having fillet steak tonight and

Soggy but Stylish - The Wren Shops Raincoats

So this just about sums up my city at the moment. It is seriously wet here. Roads closed around the city centre because of flooding, bridges unpassable. Mighty Mother Nature wreaks her vengeance yet again. Now, you could do the very British thing and wallow in our sodden misery, complain about the Environment Agency's complete incompetence, gripe

Comfort Food.

Some meals just take you somewhere. They often aren't the grandest, most haute-cuisine of dishes, but they transport you to a place of comfort and familiarity. Last night, confronted with the last leftovers of a roast chicken, I made chicken croquettes. I had seen Michel Roux Jr. cooking his version on Food & Drink on BBC2 this week and so I searched the BBC website for the recipe. I added a little Dijon mustard to his recipe to give them a little kick.

As I stood there, mindlessly (but very messily) rolling these little cylinders of mashed potatoes, up to
