Weekend in London - A Very Happy St David's Day

Not the obvious place for a Welsh woman to spend St David's Day, this weekend we were visiting my gorgeous Sister-In-Law and Brother-In-Law at their new home in London. It is only a ten minute walk to the beautiful Kew Gardens
so that's where we decided to spend our Saturday. It was a glorious Spring morning - cold and crisp and the Gardens were fairly deserted. The Little Wrens loved exploring the grounds and were awed by the Treetop walkway. It was thrilling to be up in the treetops - just beautiful.

After a short bus trip into Richmond (Master Wren's second favourite thing to do in London, after a tube ride!) for a little light shopping and some heavy hot chocolate drinking it was home for an early celebration and a slice of Mr Wren's birthday cake. Perfect day.

Today, Monday, is Mr Wren's actual factual birthday, so I am up to my elbows in chocolate icing. Birthday details and recipe to follow tomorrow. It's a goodie - there's been some major bowl licking!
